How Are Weather-Related School Decisions Made

The school division may delay school operations or close schools due to inclement weather or emergency conditions. When such conditions exist, the Superintendent will consult with the Director of Operations and the school board in making the official decision concerning school operations. In the event of emergency situations dictating early dismissal, delay, or closing of Lexington City Schools, the closing announcements will be reported to the following radio or television stations at approximately 6:00 a.m. The announcements should be posted soon thereafter.
